FKKING NY TIMES! What a great cartoon! I'm the Steve who scolded you for your "snide remark." Judging by the cartoon I would say that you have processed your feelings well!
What a scold I am! Of course, I love Theresa Brown (she's a FB friend) and how well she articulates her nursing experience. And I'm jealous of her success. I started nursing school about 10 years ago. The instructors called me a rebel. "You call this learning critical thinking - with multiple choice tests?" "We should be studying Walt Whitman - he had an attitude towards the body!" and so on. I flunked nursing school twice! I had enough credits to become an Licensed Vocational Nurse 4 years ago, so I now nurse in a nursing home. It is important work, or course, but not my first choice. Perhaps I should try to do some cartoons of my experience. I still have so many unresolved feelings about the whole experience. Thanks again for your wonderful, truly wonderful cartoons! hey! the new york times published this article about a trial that may have cured cancer in a few people: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/13/health/13gene.html?ref=health
I'm a guest on this BBC program about columns by Bill Keller and Emma Gilbey Keller, criticizing a woman who blogs about her life with cancer. I came out of the blocks a bit wild, but had a very good conversation you can hear by clicking the Listen Now link:
